Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your exams supervised?

Proctoring helps reduce the influence of non-g factors such as collaboration and the use of artificial intelligence tools, and ensures standardized administrative conditions. Additionally, many high-I.Q. society admissions committees require supervised tests, and we want to provide better options for them.

What is the easiest way to find a supervisor?

That depends on your location.

In the United States, public libraries are often the best option, as many librarians there are willing to proctor exams at no cost. Outside of the United States, university testing centers and private invigilators are often most practical. As a last resort, a notary may supervise, but they are more expensive.

What is a private invigilator?

An independent proctor who supervises examinations, typically at a university or testing center. Commercial testing centers also fall under this category.

Who is eligible to take an exam?

Any English-speaking adult aged 18 years or older with access to an eligible proctor, as outlined by our Proctoring Information page.

Are your exams clinical or diagnostic?

No. Our exams are intended for research, society admissions, and self-learning. They are explicitly not clinical, diagnostic, or employment tests.

If my score is lower than expected, can I retake the exam?

No. Retesting is not permitted; each candidate is allowed exactly one sitting per exam.
