Research Ethics
I. Purpose
Neurolus Psychometrics develops and publishes supervised examinations for adults. Our research aims include:
- investigating whether high-range performances can be meaningfully differentiated under supervised conditions,
- offering better alternatives for high-I.Q. societies that prefer supervised admissions tests, and
- providing adults with engaging and interesting examinations.
Our examinations are not intended for use in educational placement, employment decisions, or clinical settings.
II. Ethical Principles
We follow widely recognized ethical principles applicable to non-clinical research and data collection, including:
- Respect for persons: candidates are treated honestly.
- Beneficence: risks are minimized and privacy is protected.
- Justice: procedures are applied consistently across candidates.
Although we are not subject to a university institutional review board (I.R.B.), we apply these principles to maintain fairness and integrity.
III. Anonymization and Confidentiality
To protect candidate privacy, Neurolus Psychometrics:
- publishes aggregated, anonymized statistical reports,
- follows industry best practices for data security, and
- requires all data processors to sign Non-Disclosure and Data Processing Agreements.
Personally identifiable information is never included in published materials.
IV. Independent Review
Neurolus Psychometrics engages an independent reviewer who analyzes the examination dataset at defined intervals. This reviewer may conduct analyses, generate statistical reports, and evaluate data collection practices to ensure that our methods and interpretations are statistically defensible.
All data access and analysis are governed by written confidentiality and data-protection agreements.
V. Non-Clinical Nature of Exams
Our examinations are not psychological tests and do not constitute psychological services. They are not designed or administered for clinical assessment, diagnosis, educational placement, or employment evaluation.
Further, we do not provide interpretation, evaluation, or professional judgment regarding examination results.
VI. Candidate Rights
Candidate rights are described in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which we encourage every visitor to read.
VII. Prohibited Practices
Neurolus Psychometrics does not engage in deceptive research, experimental variation of testing conditions, or the sale or trade of candidate data.
